6.5 creedmoor moa at 1000 yards

According to JBM I would need 31.7 MOA from my 200 yard zero to make it to 1000 yards. So I dialed 6 notches on my front sight (6 notches * ~5.5 MOA per notch = 33 MOA) and 8 clicks down on the rear sight (8 clicks * .25 MOA per click = 2 MOA) to get me 31 MOA. Essentially one of my closest friends has two Surgeon rifles chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, and he has tried out a 26" barrel as well as a 22" barrel (both with the same contour and rifle setup). He has fired both guns 1,000+ rounds and shot over his Oehler 35P chronograph regularly.

The 6.5 Creedmoor is a hard caliber to beat for long range accuracy. I have a Savage Stealth Evolution in that caliber and you can shave pubes off a knat at 500 yards. The only recommendation I have is get the 20 MOA rail and get a GOOD scope. Vortex is good enough. Nikon is nice. Compared to the Hornady.308 Win 178 grain BTHP with a G1 Ballistic Coefficient of.530 and muzzle velocity of 2600 FPS the 6.5 Creedmoor has 110 inches or 9 feet less drop at 1,000 yards.
